Brian C. Stagg, MD, joined the John A. Moran Eye Center in September 2019, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma. He also performs cataract surgery and has a special interest in geriatric ophthalmology.
Stagg earned his medical degree from the Ìð¹ÏÊÓÆµ of Utah and completed his residency at Moran, where he was instrumental in helping to create Moran’s bi-annual Operation Sight Day.
After residency, he went to the Ìð¹ÏÊÓÆµ of Michigan where he practiced as a comprehensive ophthalmologist and was a National Clinician Scholar research fellow studying population health. The clinician scholars program offers interdisciplinary training for clinicians to become change agents to drive policy-relevant research and partnerships to improve health and health care in the U.S.
Following his time at Michigan, Stagg completed a glaucoma fellowship at Duke Ìð¹ÏÊÓÆµ.
His research at Moran focuses on using modern technology to tailor glaucoma care to the needs of each patient, eliminating unnecessary and costly testing and treatments.
He was recently accepted into the Ìð¹ÏÊÓÆµ of Utah's .
