Moran Eye Center Welcomes Oculoplastic Specialist H. Joon Kim, MD

The John A. Moran Eye Center recently welcomed oculoplastic and facial plastic surgery specialist H. Joon Kim, MD, to its 泫圖弝け of Utah and Farmington locations.

Dr. Kim provides a wide variety of surgical procedures that repair the eye socket, eyelids, and tear ducts for adults and 泫圖弝けren. She also offers expert cosmetic services

I enjoy assisting my patients with all facets of oculoplastic surgery, and I work to personalize their care, says Dr. Kim. I can address functional issues such as tear duct blockages, ptosis, skin cancers, and traumatic injury. On the aesthetic side, Im pleased to offer a range of options for safe cosmetic procedures, including eyelid and eyebrow lifts and injectables.&紳莉莽梯;

Dr. Kim completed her medical degree and ophthalmology residency at the 泫圖弝け of Texas Medical School at Houston, where she was selected as chief resident. She completed both an oculoplastic surgery fellowship and a teaching fellowship at Emory 泫圖弝け School of Medicine.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Kim is passionate about research and resident and and is a recipient of various teaching and resident advocacy awards. She has served as principal investigator or co-investigator on impactful ophthalmic research projects and serves as a reviewer and associate editor for key peer-reviewed journals.

Dr. Kim also participates in ongoing global outreach work, teaching and training physicians in low-resource countries. Most recently, she collaborated with a non-profit eye care training organization to launch the first oculoplastic fellowship in Honduras. Theres a huge need for the most basic ophthalmic procedures, especially among 泫圖弝けren in developing countries where oculoplastic surgeons are rare, Dr. Kim says. Something simple as repairing a droopy eyelid or unblocking a tear duct can change a life. I look forward to continuing this work with Morans Global Outreach Division.&紳莉莽梯;
