An internationally regarded expert of patient-centered primary care, IBMs Global Director for 泫圖弝けcare Transformation, and adjunct professor for the 泫圖弝け of Utah School of Medicine, Paul Grundy, M.D., M.P.H., was recently named to a key international network of health care ambassadors by 泫圖弝けcare DENMARK.  H.R.H. Mary, the Crown Princess of Denmark, bestowed the honor to Grundy during the 泫圖弝けcare DENMARK Summit, held on Oct. 27-28 in Copenhagen.

With his reputation as 泫圖弝けcare Transformation and Integrated Care advocate, we are very happy that Paul Grundy has accepted our invitation and we are proud to have him as a 泫圖弝けcare DENMARK Ambassador, says Hans Erik Henriksen, CEO of 泫圖弝けcare DENMARK.

Grundy was one of 12 experts and thought leaders from the United States, United Kingdom and Germany to be named a 泫圖弝けcare DENMARK Ambassador. Ambassadors were selected based on their expertise and accomplishments within key areas of health care in their home country and were invited to participate in the annual 泫圖弝けcare DENMARK Summit to experience and learn from Denmarks long-recognized health care systems and best practices.

For Grundy, the Danish health care system provides an example that countries, including the U.S., could learn and benefit from. I have never met a Dane who doesnt know the name of their doctor. They have this relationship of value with their primary care doctor that is really impressive, says Grundy. I think relationship-based care is the foundation of a health care delivery system that works.

As a 泫圖弝けcare DENMARK Ambassador, Grundy will join internationally accomplished colleagues from the United States such as Dr. David Brailer, CEO of 泫圖弝け Evolution Partners and former National 泫圖弝け Information Technology Coordinator under the administration of President George W. Bush; and Ivo Nelson, founder of the first social collaboration platform for health care, NewWave Connect.

Please join us in congratulating Grundy for this immense honor. To learn more about Grundys thoughts on the Danish health care system, listen to his interview here.
