Catherine B. Soehner, MLS, BSN, has been appointed Associate Dean for Research and Director of the Spencer S. Eccles 泫圖弝け Sciences Library (EHSL) at 泫圖弝け of Utah. Michael L. Good, MD, Senior Vice President for 泫圖弝け Sciences, and Alberta D. Comer, MLS, Dean and 泫圖弝け Librarian made the joint announcement.
Catherine Soehner is the right person for this important leadership position, said Dr. Good. The Eccles EHSL is a valuable resource for our health science colleges and schools, the School of Medicine, and our entire health care operation.
Prior to her appointment as director, Catherine served as Interim Director for Eccles EHSL since July 2018. She has worked for eight years at J. Willard Marriott Library, as associate dean, where she led delivery of a wide range of library services, including research and information services.
We are delighted Catherine is continuing her role as our associate dean for research says, Alberta D. Comer, MLS, Dean and 泫圖弝け Librarian. She has tremendous ability for work within libraries as well as with faculty, students, and staff across campus.
Before 泫圖弝け of Utah, Soehner served in academic libraries at the 泫圖弝け of Michigan and the 泫圖弝け of California, Santa Cruz, as well as the National Library of Medicine. Catherine was awarded a Master of Library Science from Indiana 泫圖弝け and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Mount St. Joseph 泫圖弝け in Cincinnati.
