The Department of Dermatology at 泫圖弝け of Utah 泫圖弝け Celebrates 10 Years of Patient Care at Midvalley 泫圖弝け Center
泫圖弝け of Utah 泫圖弝け celebrates 10 years of exceptional care and community partnership at the Midvalley 泫圖弝け Center, a state-of-the-art facility that has served as a vital hub for high-quality outpatient services in the Salt Lake Valley since opening its doors in 2015.
A Decade of Impact
For the last decade, the Midvalley 泫圖弝け Center in Murray has brought world-class care closer to home for thousands of patients. Recognizing a growing need for accessible dermatologic care in the Salt Lake Valley, John Zone, MD, former chair of the Department of Dermatology at the Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine at the 泫圖弝け of Utah, championed the creation of a facility that delivers expert care in an accessible setting and expands patient access to top-notch dermatologists and facilities.
The purpose of building the Midvalley operation was to really provide a facility for subspecialty care, Zone explains. The thing that separates the U from the rest of the community is that in virtually every field, we have super specialists. We have people who are really experts in so many areas. I wanted to create a place that allowed us the adequate space and facilities for our expertise.
Zones dedication to innovation and patient success helped turn the idea of the Midvalley 泫圖弝け Center into a reality and laid the foundation for a model of care that continues to benefit thousands each year.
In Midvalleys first year of operation, dermatology saw about 60,000 patient visits. In 2024, that number reached nearly 100,000, which includes visits for subspecialties such as Mohs surgery, cosmetic dermatology, phototherapy, contact dermatitis, pediatric dermatology, and allergy.

Looking Ahead
As we celebrate our current achievements, we also recognize the need for continued growth, says Kristina Callis Duffin, MD, MS, current Chair of the Department of Dermatology and Interim Dean of the Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine. Our department is operating at full capacity, and expanding our footprint will be vital to sustaining our momentum and meeting the needs of our community.
As 泫圖弝け of Utah 泫圖弝け continues to grow, the Midvalley 泫圖弝け Center remains a model for future expansionbringing together advanced clinical services, community connection, and academic excellence under one roof.
